After a year without a zoo pass, and a failed attempt to go on Tuesday, we finally signed up again! Note to self (and anyone else), do not try to go to the zoo on $2 Tuesdays! CrAzY!
We met the Jarvis' and did the rounds today. My favorite part for sure were the Sea Lions, everyone else seemed to enjoy them too. It's so fun to see Bubby's face watch these graceful animals swim through the water.
We were there during feeding time and got to see a few tricks too! All the kids loved this part, and the adults too!
After lunch we watched the little bird show, here is a bald eagle making it's way to the stage. It really is huge with it's 6 foot wing span!
This Grandma Orangutan, Inji, has been in the Portland Zoo since 1961. They're building a new indoor/outdoor facility and it will be the first time she's been out since 1961.

Hey Meg. I'm lovin' the zoo pics. Sandy was here last week and we took her to the Long Beach Aquarium. We were checking out the sea lion exhibit when we noticed that the sea lions were behaving strangely. The other observers were saying things like, "Oh look, they're wrestling," or "Look Mom, they're fighting!" They we obviously mating - any idiot could see (right up next to the glass). Let's just say it was definitely an educational experience for Sadie and Emmy. Nice.
